Objective A cognitive study of medical humanities ability of medical students and the attitude of the medical humanities curriculum,in order to put forward the improvement measures of medical humanities education. Methods Using the questionnaire investigation and evaluation of human cognitive ability of medical students conducted a survey of medical students,frequency description and sequence statistics. Results The importance of medical humanities ability and high identification of medical students,but the treatment of elective humanities courses attitudes were not correct,satisfaction with the course content was not high. The cognitive ability of medical humanities was not sufficient,self-evaluation was not high. There was significant difference in the setting of medical humanities curriculum,but no statistical significance in other regards among the students of the 2012,2013,2014 classes. The improvements include that increasing social practice and medical humanities courses,the creation of medical humanities lectures. Conclusions We can see from the medical students' attitude toward medical humanities courses that our country's medical humanities education system remains to be perfected,the author puts forward three suggestions,1. The medical humanities education should be based on the basis of general education. 2. The PBL teaching can not only become a mere formality. 3. promote curriculum integration to maximize the teaching efficiency.
