Collect and review development situation of registered nurse from 2006 to 2016 in Yunnan Province. Selectively analyze distribution situation of registered nurse in prefectures(cities),counties(districts) in 2016 in Yunnan Province,so as to provide reference for rational allocation of nursing human resources. The results show that the registered nurses increased from 39.8 thousand to 106.3 thousand. Amounts of registered nurses has increased significantly. The number of registered nurses per thousand people has increased from 0.89 to 2.23,but it still was lower than national average,and registered nurses were still relatively shortage. According to the population number of each county,the front 1/3 registered nurses were distributed in 8 counties(cities and districts),covered only 12.43% of total population of the province,the median 1/3 registered nurses were in 26 counties(cities and districts),covered 30.87% of the population,the rear 1/3 registered nurses were in 95 counties,covered 56.70% of the population. The distribution of registered nurses in the province is extremely unbalance,generally is centered on “high-medium-low” circular distribution in center of Yunnan Province,and the location of the city is generally higher. It suggests that continuely increase the construction of registered nurses team and actively promote regional balanced development.
